Story Elements for Marluk: The Street Avenger
Vanadium Comics Presents: Part 2.75
Hello, happy day, and welcome back to another wonderful snippet into the Arkadi-Verse, Heroes! I pray that your day has been absolutely astonishing as it is productive!
No matter what it is, or what you feel is holding you back, please know that you are enough. You are amazing, and whatever gift you have been blessed with, please, share it with the world!
Let’s step back into the streets, the wild, wild streets of Arkadium, and who best to guide us but the Street Avenger himself, Marluk! When Marluk was a young eleven yold, he was gifted with a Devil-Bat of New Jersey comic book by Leroy. Reading this book influenced him to change the lives of the citizens of Arkadium. He did not want to just stop crime, but to change lives for good. Why do criminals repeat offend once they are out? Why make my job harder? Why thwart the same petty crimes? The criminal purpose may have the intent for good. No, I am not rationalizing criminal behavior, nor do I condone the act of crime, but really think about it. A person has lost their job, he/she has a child, the resources are not available because the person made a certain amount, and the money in the bank is in the red, what would those survival instincts drive the person to do? Out of desperation, a personal shift now trumps the order that the person once valued.
Marluk, looks to assist those that have made mistakes, gives them a second chance at life, so the desperate person can redeem themselves in society. This is a story about life, compassion, redemption, and one of growth. Not saying that there won’t be action, but this allows for a follow-up to those that have changed their ways. The goal is not to be redundant, however, one that progresses the world building within the Arkadi-Verse. As a creator, writer, and artist, I cannot have two-dimensional cookie cutter characters that just serve as flat props. The goal is to render them because who knows how they may impact the stories or those future events. Also, I would like to share with you that the stories of the Devil-Bat of New Jersey may be interwoven to add synergy and depth. Some heroes were inspired by Zorro, but our hero was inspired by the Devil-Bat.
