Story Elements for Märlük: The Street Avenger

Vanadium Comics Presents: Part 3.75

Hello, happy day, and welcome back to another wonderful snippet into the Arkadi-Verse, Heroes! I pray that your day has been absolutely astonishing as it is productive!

No matter what it is, or what you feel is holding you back, please know that you are enough. You are amazing, and whatever gift you have been blessed with, please, share it with the world!

Glorious day to all! Wow, these few weeks have been a busy one, but a great one nonetheless. I am delving deep to further and seek the tonality of Märlük’s voice. The story is a gritty noiresque type of storytelling. How does a lone wolf type of hero work with others? How does he accept the hands reaching down to pull him up? Yes, this champion is a vigilante, but he is not alone. Especially, within a community of heroes. The city is vast, and the county is bigger. One must recognize that some heroes will interact, and that is a good thing… Or is it?

Right now, Märlük must solve the mysteries of his origin, the serial killings of Arkadium’s citizens, the narcotics being pushed by the mob, and the loss of his parents. Leroy is busy doing the reconnaissance within the city streets. The increase of violence, the uptick of lynch mobs, the contraband being spread while leaving families in dissaray, and the increase of crime bringing a once beautiful city to her knees. Leroy is able to be the eyes and ears as he communicates his findings to our champion. The world is being built around the citizens of Arkadium and her heroes. The history, the religion, the class system, sports, the everyday lives of the people, and the struggles they face on a daily level. What are the results? What are the levels of accountability? How are consequences used to drive the narrative? Why are they making theses choices? Who will fight? Who will triumph, and why?

Märlük is getting ready to fight for freedom, justice, and to protect the pursuit of happiness. The Arkadium citizens jist want to survive, and here we have a hero that is selfless to recognize this vision… He wants those same ideals to bare fruit.
