Work in Progress; Märlük : The Street Avenger

Hello, happy day, and welcome back to another wonderful snippet into the Arkadi-Verse, Heroes! I pray that your day has been absolutely astonishing as it is productive!

Yes, welcome back, Heroes! I know that it seems like it has been a minute since the last discussion, but I have been engulfed by the Arkadi-Verse. I have been working on the script, now the thumbnails are being planned and worked on for the full pages, and this dream of creating a comic book is beginning to flourish! I am so excited and pumped up for the learning process of cartooning. Let me tell you, it is not an easy process, but it is a passionate one. Just delving into the creative process, world building, storytelling, the art of design, and learning how to letter pages this has been an amazing journey, so far. I have also been adding to my portfolio, and adding designs for the future covers. I have been thinking of an early 90’s comic book theme, and that has been a blast too. So excited to show you. Now, for the meat and potatoes of Märlük: The Street Avenger. Every week or so, I have been feeding you pieces to expand the world building process until the campaign is actually launched. If you are enjoying this process, and the storytelling this far, please share the newsletters, or have your colleagues subscribe.

Within the story, there are citizens that are disappearing, a criminal underworld uprising, poverty, drug addiction, humans being trafficked, street level crime, and the art of survival in an urban setting. These topics may be relatable to those living in an impoverished urban city with smog incubating that world. The carcinogen pollutants filling the lungs of each citizen, and a hero rising to clean up the city he loves. How is this possible? A vigilante stands up to the crime lords running rampant within his city, and in between their plots to ruin the city from within. Their grasp will loosen and fall as they will be beaten blow by blow from our champion’s batons. Justice will prevail.
